Laura Maihofer, BS, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, has been a professional trainer since 2015. She is currently a Veterinary Nursing student through Purdue University’s Online program and is passionate about learning. She specializes in cooperative care training, preparing dogs and cats for vet visits, aggression prevention, anxiety, and reactivity.
Laura was inspired to learn the science and art of cooperative care when she became the guardian of Jinora, a senior rescue German Shepherd who had handling sensitivity and was only comfortable with physical touch from her trusted person. Her journey with Jinora and with her current dog, Sokka, have helped her understand the nuances of working with sensitive dogs and preventing aggression through management and training.
In her free time she can be found playing board games with friends, hiking, cross stitching, watching tv, or training with her dog, Sokka, and cats, Pema and Jet.
