HTA Trainer Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the Humane Training Alliance. As a member, you will gain the opportunity to create a complimentary profile in our searchable directory. The profile will be visible to dog guardians searching for dog trainers near them through our website. You will also receive a HTA Member badge for your website. Our goal is to cultivate an informed community of animal guardians by providing an online platform that connects them with ethical and fear-free animal professionals. To broaden our reach, we plan to promote our website through printed material distributed to veterinary hospitals, pet stores, and many other locations throughout Michigan. Please note that this form may take about 45 minutes. It can be saved and completed at a later time. The questions are designed to be detailed to help us understand your skills and experience; we encourage you to answer them to the best of your ability.

I understand that the ethics of humane dog training practices extend to the humane treatment of humans. Animal welfare advocacy should not be disconnected from social justice. The societal structures that rely on punitive measures and mistreatment of humans and other species are fundamentally flawed and necessitate comprehensive reformation. I am committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the animal welfare field and the communities we serve. I believe that every individual - regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic - has the right to respectful treatment and equal opportunities. I pledge to uphold these principles in all aspects of my work and to continually challenge myself and others to build a more equitable world for all.
